Too Much Homework?

Why do teachers give more than six homework assignments? Why and who did that rule?

Dear Babygreeneyes:

There ist a rule that specifies how much homework a teacher is supposed to give. Most of the time, teachers should try to limit homework to a reasonable amount of time: about 1 to 2 hours for elementary school students. Unfortunately, there are times when you have more than one teacher and they each give an hour of homework. This can quickly become an overload situation.

We think that some teachers sometimes overdo the work load. All factors need to be considered and sometimes teachers forget to do that. If you are having a problem with too much homework, talk about it with your parents. If they agree, they can speak about it with your teacher.

We hope this helps.
