Topic: Longitude & Latitude

ClassBrain Visitor:

What is the latitude and longitude of the following continents:
Africa, Asis, North America, South America, Antartica, Australia

ClassBrain Response:

Before you can answer the above question you must first understand what longitude and latitude really means. Here is a link to a great explanation by Dr. David P. Stern.

So you see, you cannot find the longitude and latitude of an entire continent (such as Africa, Asia, North America, South America, Antarctica, and Australia) because there are many, many different points on each one. You must pick a specific location. In fact, the spot where you are sitting at the computer right now has an exact longitude and latitude.

ClassBrain and Maptech have joined together to bring you a longitude and latitude mapping tool for North America. You can pick any city or zip code and get a map of that area. Then you can pinpoint the exact location you want and get its coordinates. Here is a link to instructions and the tool.

International maps are coming soon!
