Topic: Spelling Words

ClassBrain Visitor:

i need to know how to learn my spelling words faster i am in 6 grade.

ClassBrain Response:

Spelling is a very hard subject and sometimes there are so many words to remember all at once!

One thing you can do to help yourself is to keep a list of your spelling words with you as soon as the teacher gives them to you. Keep looking at the list all week, several times a day, and you'll be amazed at how much you remember!

You can also say the words out loud and spell each word out loud while you are doing homework. This can really help you to remember words.

Another thing to do is to practice writing each word a bunch of times. Say my spelling word is... diplomatic. I would take one whole page and write that word over and over and over again until I reached the bottom of the page. This will also make your spelling words easier to remember.

Also you can have a friend or parent quiz you a few times a week. Start with a few words the first day. Have them keep asking you how to spell those few words until you get them right. Then try it the next day with a few more words. This keeps you from feeling like there are too many words to remember all at once.

Above all, remember that the best thing you can do for yourself is to set aside some time on your own to really try your best. Not everyone learns the same way, so try a few different things to see what works best for you.

If you know that you are trying your very, very best, be proud of yourself no matter what!

Hope this helps,
