If you are planning to stop in Lyon, France on your next trip to Europe, take a few minutes to request a Lyon greeter to show the area. It is a free service available from the city of Lyon. Lyon greeters are volunteers who will show you around their town for two hours for free.

These hometown guides will show you the best places to eat, or visit, or party. There is no better way to see a city, than with person who lives in the area. This is a wonderful free service for visitors that you shouldn't miss!

You need to let them know at least a week ahead of time that you are going to be in town, but they make it very easy to notify them with a Lyon Greeter online request form. You can even chat with them online to find the best places to stay.
