Smoothies for Kid's Better Health
By Roebeks
May 4, 2008, 22:12

To help fight childhood obesity and get healthier beverages into the hands of children, Robeks will offer one FREE 12 ounce smoothie (Tropical, Berry or naturally light) to kids under age 12 with the purchase of one 24 ounce smoothie every Monday, all day, all summer. The program will be reinforced with residential mailers and coupons. Flyers will be distributed to Boys & Girls Clubs, schools and churches to spread the word.

No summer is complete without tasting the refreshing pleasures of fruit. With the Mahalo Mango and Pina Koolada smoothie promotion, customers can get into their diet up to four servings of fruit in each smoothie, out of a recommended 9 to 13 daily servings of fruits and vegetables. Only DOLE fruit is used in Robeks smoothies, which is flash-frozen for optimal consistency and off-the-vine freshness. What's more, Mahalo Mango has only 174 calories in a 12 ounce size, and delivers 60 percent of daily Vitamin A and 43 percent of Vitamin C requirements.

"Summer is a time when we want to sport our swimsuits or shorts and feel healthier. Our smoothies are a great way to lose or manage weight, increase exercise and fulfill nutritional needs. And, if your smoothie isn't just the way you like it every time, let us know and we'll make it right," said Brian Tademy, vice president of marketing.

Robeks Great-Taste Guarantee Campaign originated with the continuous stream of comments from customers that Robeks' smoothies taste 'better' than the competition. Robeks stands behind its recipes 100 percent and differentiates itself with premium-quality ingredients, proprietary nutritional boosts and made-to-order smoothie taste and texture that can be customized to each guest's favorite fruits.
