BOATLIFT, An Untold Tale of 9/11 Resilience

On September 11th, 2001 during the attack on the World Trade Center a remarkable event took place. Over 500,000 people were evacuated from the island of Manhattan by hundreds of boats who answered the Coast Guard call for "All available boats to evacuate Manhattan." The feat was accomplished in only nine hours, making it the largest water rescue in history bar none.
