Free Driving Skills Materials for Teachers

As many schools have eliminated any sort of driver's education, teens driving deaths have climbed. A 16 year old is 10 times more likely to be in an accident than an adult, according to Driving Skills for Life. That's a terrifying number! How do you improve their possibility of survival? You educate the kids again.

The Ford Company is the sponsor of "Driving Skills for Life," and they believe that it's important for kids to get some fundamentals down when it comes to driving. This section for teachers has downloadable brochures and letters for parents and a Leader guide for your coordinators.

Statistics are sobering. Over 7500 drivers between the ages of 15 and 20 were involved in fatal crashes in 2005 in the US. Also noted, was that the fatality rate in the US for drivers between 16 and 19 years of age, based on miles driven, is four times the fatality rate for drivers between the ages of 25 and 69. Don't let your students go into the driving world unprepared. Speak to your PTA and your administrators and request at the minimum a mini-section on driver's health and safety within your health class.

Send for a "Driving Skills For Life" DVD for your classroom today.
