A bit about the artist . . .

This particular page is devoted to Louis-Hector Berlioz. He was born at La Côte-St-André, Isère on December 11, 1803. He died in Paris on March 8, 1869. As a boy Berlioz learned to play the flute and guitar. He began his career as a medical student, but after two long years he abandoned the profession chosen by his father in order to study music.
